Hello, my name is Geoff and I'm a sceptic.
The above is not a confession, it's a proclamation. I discovered I was a sceptic late(ish) in life but in doing so I realised that I had been a sceptic for at least as long as I can remember. In this section I will discuss scepticism and why it's important to me.
If you've read this and you are starting to mentally associate scepticism with cynicism then I hope to convince you that they're not the same, in fact the two aren't synonyms, they're not even close.
Before I launch into the various aspects of scepticism I want to start with how I came to be a sceptic, the reasons for this are twofold: firstly I find it useful to re-examine my own motivations and writing it down helps me to do that. Secondly I'm trying to hone my writing skills and this will give me some much needed practice.
