Naud is a bash script for normalizing audio files using the normalize-audio utility. It is specifically aimed at mp3, ogg and flac files.
Drizzle is a utility written in Python, I have written it because I often want to download large torrent files (such as Linux DVD images) which can take a few days to complete. This in itself is not a problem however my ISP will charge me extra for downloading during peak periods hence I would like my download to stop automatically when in those peak periods and start again when off-peak.
all2mpg is a script to convert (almost) any video file into a format suitable for mastering onto a video DVD. It builds on the work done by Phil Ehrens and borrows heavily from his scripts: AviToVob and Mp42dvd.
Once you have converted the files you'll still need a DVD authoring program such as QDVDAuthor in order to create a video DVD.
This script is heavily dependent upon the transcode package. Transcode is no longer in maintenance hence this may or may not work.
If you're a fan of Star Trek then you may know about the New Voyages. This fan-based operation has produced a pilot show and, up until now, three episodes. I've transcoded these programmes and put them onto DVD suitable for PAL players. You can download the DVD image here. This download is approximately 3.6 GB.
N.B. I've not used Gentoo nor Dabo for some years now hence these ebuilds might be a little dated.
I've created two Gentoo ebuilds for Dabo and the Dabo IDE. Dabo is a 3-tier, cross-platform application development framework, written in Python atop the wxPython GUI toolkit and can be found here. If you've ever used Microsoft Visual Foxpro and are looking for an open source alternative then Dabo is the place to look.
These ebuilds are stored as part of the gentoo-sunrise overlay, for further information on how to use the sunrise overlay look here.
Postsync provides control of actions hooked onto portage's sync operation and, as the name suggests, are run after portage has performed the sync. If you want to try it you'll need to install the sunrise overlay; How to do this.
Bango is a small utility written in Python. It takes all the hassle out of using Bananalotto by logging in and entering all ten games using random numbers.
