Bango

Bango is a small utility written in Python. It takes all the hassle out of using Bananalotto by logging in and entering all ten games using random numbers.

Of course you'll have to sort out the bananapoints yourself!

If you have access to a server then you can set it up as a cron job, for instance on a Debian server you can place Bango under /etc/cron.daily and then your server will play for you. Don't forget that on Debian (and possibly other distributions) you'll need to remove the file extension as the application that runs the jobs, run-parts, won't run any file with a period in it.

If you win the big one send me a tenner :-)

Requirements

In order to use it you will have to modify the file to include your Bananalotto log-on details.  Edit the bango.py file, you will find a section near the top like this:

###################################
# Logon information
###################################
USER = "<e-mail>"
PASS = "<password>"
CHECK = "<firstname>"

Here you should change "<e-mail>" to your e-mail address as understood by bananalotto. Change "<password>" to your bananalotto password.  So that bango can check if the login is successful you should change "<firstname>" to whatever you registered with bananalotto as your first name. You can leave "<firstname>" as an empty string in which case Bango will assume each login attempt is successful and omit the check.

Oh yes ... why is it called bango? Well, I was going to call it "GoBananas" but that was too long for a command so bango it is!
